Ramadhan & its meaning

Let's see what's the topic for today? Hmmm...

Hari Raya? Fasting month ended quite early for me this year when I'm about to embrace it. I teared when the 'takbir' was recited during the eve of Raya. I don't know what its supposed to mean and the recital is just too melancholy. It shook many muslims and to think of all the bad deeds, sins and your loved ones whom have left you earlier to another world, it just bring tears down ones eye and making one want to repent. Ramadhan is a wonderful muslim month I can say.

Syawal. The month where you seek forgiveness from the elderly and is a month where you celebrate your victory of fasting for the whole month of Ramadhan.

It started off well for me. Visitied my grandmother (paternal side as maternal side passed away when I was young) for Hari Raya and my elder uncles and aunts. Seeked forgiveness from my grandmother and somehow this year was a touching one. I never hug or been hugged by my grandmother that tight and that long. It lasted for almost a minute. She started tearing on my shoulder. Hearing her cry, I couldn't manage to control my tears and it started flowing. I managed to speakout a few words.

"Apesal nenek nangis? Dah. Jangan nangis okay? Wan tak pergi mana-mana. Wan sayang nenek."

And I wiped hear tears away at the same time wiped mine. Its so difficult to stay joyous for the rest of the day after that heartfelt incident at grandmother's place at Wellington Circle.
