I am still on the edge. Of choosing to sign on or not to sign on. Yes. You may think I am crazy, but I am not sure myself.
To me, I fancy police officers, having to walk around in uniform, and looking smart, handsome and fierce. Firefighters too. With that ladder in hand, hose, running up the stairs with the orange helmet. Cool kan? Hahah! Oops.
But to wear those uniforms, is another story. A lot of sacrifices, trainings, and time spent to be in that final form. This is what I've researched thus far.
Singapore Police Force
- 6 months in Home Team Academy (HTA)
- Stay in 😩
- Will be specialist (officer) once done with training.
- Law test
Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA)
- 2 months in HTA
- Stay in 😩
- Worklife will be at checkpoints (Tuas/Woodlands)
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) as a Fire Rescue Specialist (FRS)
- 6 month in Civil Defence Academy (CDA) at Jalan Bahar
- Stay in 😩
- Will be posted to station after post out
- Start off as a section commander
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) as a Paramedic
- 14 months in NSTI at Jalan Bahar
- Stay in 😩
- Start off as a section commander
This are the options if I want to sign on. Apart from good salary and benefits, i'm looking at the degree scheme thingy that they will be offering. I told my cousin. She say go for it. I support you.
But now I'm confused. If I were to sign on, I need to somehow sacrifice my music line as I don't have time for that. I suck.
"How now brown cow?"
With love,
Syed Ridwan
P/S: I miss you
